A Birthday Room Raid

My best friend celebrated her birthday last weekend and we decided to have a "slumber date" (a slumber party with just the 2 of us haha). It felt like we were in high school again and we had so much fun catching up. Words are not enough to describe this fabulous woman so I decided to raid her room and took snap shots of her favorite stuff.

Her green Zara pumps.
Her majestic ring.
The kikay who's loyal to Mac.
Ms. Workaholic
Call Me Maybe? =P
Her bright and colorful wardrobe
Prints galore - animal, aztec, cosmic and floral
Bling Blings
Killer Shoes

From her stuff you can already see her fun and lively personality. But her real identity is not revealed in her shoes nor in her bag but in her BIG BIG heart. I Love You Bessy =) Happy Birthday =)

Do the Denim

Lately, I've been spotting A-list celebrities wearing denim shirts. They all look fabulous and at the same time it looked really comfortable. It's very versatile as you can make it really girly or make it look rugged. I believe it's a must-have item for every girl.

Kate Bosworth

Ashley Greene

Ashley Olsen
Vanessa Hudgens wearing Jen's Pirate Booty Guipil Texas Tuxedo Shirt in Denim

Katie Holmes wearing a 1969 Denim Gap Top with ripped jeans

Rachel Bilson and Hilary Duff
Pins and Needles Tie-Front Chambray Top $ 49
Rails Jayden Buttondown Denim Shirt with Collar Tips $127
I'm now in search for the perfect denim top. Not too big nor too small. Just with the right fit to easily match it with leggings, shorts or skirts. Hopefully I could find one with the right shade (not too faded) and with the right texture and thickness so I can still wear it with the humid weather. I also hope it would not be too expensive =P

Love it or hate it? Share your comments!=)

A Unique Fathers Day Celebration

Celebrated Fathers Day by going to Mafbex 2012 at World Trade Center with the whole family. My dad was interested in food equipment while I was there to check out the food. There were lots of booths offering different kinds of goods and services like caterers, furniture, websites and more.

I loved these biscuits from Malaysia. I bought 3 big packs for P200. The cheese flavor was so yummy. I heard that they will now be distributing here in the Philippines. Yey! Note: Julie's (biscuits) is a different brand from Julie's Bakeshop, just in case you're wondering =P

After spending the whole afternoon strolling around World Trade Center and munching on food, it's time to officially celebrate Fathers day at Kamameshi House along Zobel Roxas St. in Makati.

They served hot tea to warm our hungry tummies =P

While waiting for our orders, we were served with beansprouts and sweet dilis which has been a childhood favorite. I remembered asking for refills when they still had a branch at Broadway Centrum which has been closed a looong time ago.

We ordered hot miso soup which was perfect for the rainy evening.

This brought a lot of memories. The authentic style of preparing their own kettle rice - "Gomoku Kamameshi".

The rice was really moist and was filled with veggies. This is definitely the best Jap rice I've ever had (so far).

We didn't miss to order Tempura which is a family favorite.

My dad ordered Yakitori (grilled, skewered chicken meat cut into cubes).

My parents ordered Kakiage (deep-fried mixed vegetables dipped in tempura batter) which I'm not really fond of.

As a special treat for fathers day, they gave my dad free buko pandan for dessert and a 100-pesos GC haha =)

The place is quite old but it still has the Japanese vibe with their minimalist architecture and original Japanese art pieces.

I know it was quite weird to attend a food expo on fathers day but the important thing is my dad enjoyed every minute of it. He even brought home a bag full of brochures, catalogs and calling cards from the different booths he visited.

Happy fathers day to my Papa and to all the great fathers out there =)

Quick Stop at the South: Soderno

Want to grab something to eat for your late night hangout? Drop by Soderno (beside Alabang Town Center) for a lot of great food finds.

Gotta love street food!

The kebabs looked so yummy but I was a bit disappointed. The meat was not tender and it was hard to chew. P100 for a stick is already filling. The sauce was not too great and it could have saved the kebabs but it didn't.

Huge pizza slices for P 170 per slice.

One of the best dalandan frozen juices everrr and the girl selling it was super friendly.

We went there around 8:30-ish and most stalls were still closed. I will be back again at a later time.
A perfect place to go after partying =P

A Tagaytay Wedding

I love weddings! Not only is it a time to dress up and be glamorous but more importantly to celebrate the union of two individuals bound by love.

We stayed at Tagaytay Haven Hotel. I loved this place because of its very convenient location (along the highway) and it is budget-friendly. As far as I can remember we paid P 3,840 for a room good for 6 (P640 per person). I was expecting to have a jam-packed room because there would be a number of us sharing it but I was so surprised to have a very spacious area. (You can actually squeeze-in two additional beds). It was very clean and the staff was also friendly.

It was a rainy Friday and the perfect thing to cap off the night is some hot bulalo soup. Since it was already late (around 11 pm), we searched for an open food spot and saw RSM Lutong Bahay.

We ordered the famous bulalong tagalog which got the Sooo Pinoy Award for Best Bulalo (2011) and halaan soup. It was also my first time to try the bone marrow. I heard it was the best part and it really was. The only thing is it's bad for those with cholesterol problems.

(Wedding Day)

Since the free breakfast was only for two, we just walked a few steps (in sleepwear) going to Jollibee, which is connected to the hotel. =) Then we took our turns to hit the shower and dressed up. Good thing my friend Kaye brought her cute mini iron to straighten out our crumpled wedding get up.

Then that's me in my simple long red dress =)

The ceremonies were held at Lourdes Church. The church was filled with white roses and the aisles were lined with white cloth.

The couple exchanged vows and had the photo ops.
The reception was held at Clear Waters which was just a few blocks away from the church.

The weather was perfect for the garden setting and the place had a nice view of Taal. When we thought that it would rain, the sun was so high that it gave me my tan. =P

It was indeed a lovely day to celebrate the joyful union of our friend John and his wife Eds. Best wishes to the bride and groom. =)
