Sole Slam Manila 10.14.12

My gig last weekend: Sole Slam Manila @ Ronac Art Center.

My posh best friend was the one who told me about this event and surprisingly all my bros were also planning to go. We bought VIP tickets for P600 but thanks to Resorts World, we got it at 50% off =P

My sneaky siblings. Guess who's wearing what =P

Welcome to sneakers heaven! Well there were all kinds of kicks. Mostly hard-to-find ones and limited editions. No wonder the prices are way beyond my budget.=P There were re-sellers and traders as well.

This would have to be my favorite trio =)

There were also cool shirts and other street wear.

To complete the look, they also had some accessories for the big boys - G-Shock watches, caps and Casio Retro watches =)

Some boys could be OC too (especially when it comes to their expensive kicks). There were some stuff to clean your shoes, as well as some protective gear to maintain the shape and even zip lock bags.

Since this was sneaker heaven, there were also angels haha. I first saw Aubrey Miles with Troy Montero but I was going down the stairs and my cam and I were not ready. FHM covergirl Ellen Adarna dropped by.

another FHM babe Abby Poblador

Me and my bro got to take a pic with model Paloma Esmeria who was really friendly.

and it's me again with my favorite Magic DJ:Suzy

There were raffle prizes that were given away like Blackberry Phones, Resorts World accommodations and the grand prize (and the one I was drooling for), a white Meister watch. They also awarded this year's winner of the Sneaker Battle Competition who showcased his limited edition 'Eminem Sneaks'.

Overall it was a fun event. I felt like I was inside a candy store and I just wanted everything.

I was just a bit disappointed not bringing home anything because they ran out of loot bags for the VIPs =( The prices were also quite high compared to some shops. If you're a shoe collector or if you just have the hots for kicks, it was an event that you should not have missed. Add them in facebook to get the latest news and events and get updated on their latest happenings.  Til next year! =)

Tous les Jours

Lets have a little bread talk =) I just saw this new store as I was looking for something to go with my coffee.
Tous Les Jours simply means everyday (tous =all, les=the, jours=days)
Not sure how to pronounce it right but lets just call it TLJ =P
It's the newest bread franchise from Korea. I know the name sounds french but it was actually established in Korea way back in 1996. From the name 'everyday', it just conveys how fresh their products are.

It was so hard to choose what to get since everything looked and smelled good =)
They also had some refreshments and cakes to choose from.
Finally, I decided to try the ff:
1. Sweet Black Rice Bread with Cream Cheese P48/pc
2. Soboro P28/pc
3. Cinnamon Twist P18/pc

I liked the Korean Soboro bread. It was simple. Not too sweet and I can say it has a classic taste. Soboro bread or strewed bread is a known snack in Korea and is their version of the German Streusel bread. I loved the crumby top. It would be better if it would have a creamy filling inside. =P The sweet black rice bread had a totally unique taste. I felt like eating a big mochi ball with cream cheese inside. I was expecting a lot from the cream cheese filling but it wasn't too flavorful. The cinnamon twist was okay. I just love cinnamon. =P I should have bought the apple pie and macarons. Oh well, there's always another time =)

Tous les Jours now has three branches: SM North, SM South and Alabang Town Center and will open soon at Robinsons Galleria, MOA and Eastwood City.
Check out their website to view their products and special promos: http://www.tlj.ph.

Kill Time at Resorts World Manila

Too early for your flight? No problem! Here's a short side trip if you have some hours to kill.
PLAN: Go to Game Zoo and Have coffee while watching a live band.
Bought a card at Game Zoo for P150 (P50 refundable upon return of card) (Time: 2-3pm)
Shoot some hoops, kill zombies, ride a motorcycle, hammer some mushrooms.
Feel like a race car driver, and play the most disappointing game EVERR. The price to catch was quite tempting though-- Magnum and Cornetto ice cream =)
Release your stress with Penguin Paradise or if you have a friend with you, play ice hockey. =)
The price for each game was quite expensive if you would compare it to Time Zone, but I liked that it was not too crowded and it was very clean.
I'm sure you got a little tired. Now, its time to relax and unwind. Go to the casino area, order some drinks and enjoy the live band. (Time 3-4 pm). At first the band was playing some good old songs and later on they were singing new songs from Lady Gaga, BEP, J. Lo and even Carly Rae Jepsen (Call Me Maybe). If you know the songs, you can sing along (well, I did haha).
I had so much fun that I almost forgot about my flight. I immediately rushed to find the the shuttle to T3 and catch my 6:30 flight. =P My major booboo was I missed the shuttle and took the cab instead and my flight was not at T3. Major panic!! But that's another story. =P I'll be doing this again soon =)

33rd Manila International Book Fair

Admitting I'm a bookworm, this was definitely an event, I didn't miss. Thanks to Ching I was able to score passes and thanks to my dad for driving me to SMX even with the bad weather. Too bad I was only able to go during the last day of the event that 90% of the books in my must-have list were sold out boohoo. =(

Books everywhere!!
Interactive promotions for kids and kids at heart =P
From local authors to international bestsellers, classic archie comics, everyone's favorite Where's Wally, newly released books and more more books =)
There were also some office supplies as well. Oh how I love pens =)
I got this super cute postcard from OMF Lit's booth where I bought my John Maxwell book =)

Almost all booths offered 20% off in their books. There were even religious books below P10.00. It must have been wild during the first few days. I can't believe David Levithan's books got sold out. I only ended up with a few items. Surprisingly, my dad was the one who went into a shopping spree and brought home 2  eco bags full of books and planners. Apparently, he bought it as gifts for Christmas (good idea!). Oh well,  I'll just wait for the 34th MIBF next year and I should really (and I mean REALLY) finish all the books I have on hand. I always get distracted when there are new ones =P See u 2013.
